Project meeting at Stanford Date: 02/18/99 Attendees: Rajeev Motwani, Svetlozar Nestorov, Sebastien Brion, Dick Tsur, and Yue Zhuge We discussed more on XML links, and we learned about extended links and link groups. We also discussed Xpointers, which allows locating an element within a remote document. Locating element X can be done by providing the root of the remote document, then either providing the ID of the X or a "path" that led from the document root to X. Before the next meeting: *.. Sebastien and Yue will discuss and propose methods to translate some of the plain text resumes we have into XML format. *.. Sebastien and Yue will try to display XML documents in one of the browsers that (claiming) handles XML (e.g., IE5.0 Beta or Netscape 5.0). *.. Svetlozar will read the paper "NoDoSE: A Tool for Semi-Automatically Extracting Structured and Semistructured Data from Text Documents" by Brad Adelberg and review it in the next meeting.
