Hakan Hacigumus is the head of Data Management Research at NEC Labs
America. His current interests include data management in the cloud,
service oriented business models, data privacy, and green technologies.
Prior to NEC Labs, he was a researcher at IBM Almaden Research Center,
where worked on a wide range of areas in data management and services
research. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the
University of California, Irvine.
