Lars Backstrom graduated with a PhD from Cornell in 2009, where he
worked with Jon Kleinberg, analyzing a variety of large-scale web
datasets from various systems, including social networks, search logs,
and server logs. Since joining Facebook in 2009, Lars has worked to
develop the scale that drives many of Facebook's friend suggestions,
and worked to improve the ranking and relevance of news feed.
