Open Information Model (OIM)
Who— The Meta-Data Coalition (MDC) ? OIM including KDM “donated” by Microsoft
Purpose— A set of formal meta-data specifications to support tool interoperability across technologies and companies via shared information models
Ontology model— Within the Knowledge Management Model, the Knowledge Description Model provides meta-data types to describe and categorize information managed by computer systems. Meta model allows ontology to distinguish concepts from terms describing them (cfr. NIAM)
