The cost of processing a purchase
Vendor checks adequacy plus:
- scrip stamp (1 hash) stops tampering
- request stamp (2 hashes: customer secret and stamp) stops theft
- serial number stops double-spending
Provide service, return change
- 2 hashes for scrip and reply stamps
- For scrip purchase, 3 more hashes to create and transmit scrip and customer secret.
