BIB-VERSION:: CS-TR-v2.0 ID:: STAN//CS-TR-80-824 ENTRY:: June 08, 1995 ORGANIZATION:: Stanford University, Department of Computer Science TITLE:: LCCD, a language for Chinese character design TYPE:: Technical Report AUTHOR:: Mei, Tung Yun DATE:: October 1980 PAGES:: 66 ABSTRACT:: LCCD is a computer system able to produce aesthetically pleasing Chinese characters for use on raster-oriented printing devices. It is analogous to METAFONT, in that the user writes a little program that explains how to draw each character; but it uses different types of simulated 'pens' that are more appropriate to the Chinese idiom, and it includes special scaling features so that a complex character can easily be built up from simpler ones, in an interactive manner. This report contains a user's manual for LCCD, together with many illustrative examples and a discussion of the algorithms used. NOTES:: [Adminitrivia V1/Prg/19950608] END:: STAN//CS-TR-80-824
