this is also a small HTML file to look at!

Dear CS faculty and undergraduate students,

Have you ever looked at some of the recent blockbuster films like Toy Story I & II, Shrek, or Final Fantasy and wondered how they created such amazing images? Now is your chance to find out...

An Evening of Dinner, Graphics, and a Movie!

Who: Patrick Hanrahan
When: January 28 6-9pm
Where: Room TBA (will be announced in a later email)

Dinner

Come join your CS department friends and colleagues, and chat while you eat pizza.

Graphics

Professor Patrick Hanrahan, who won an Academy Award for his work on the Renderman Protocol, will be presenting some of the techniques and ideas used to create these images. Whether you have or have not taken CS148/248, this promises to be an exciting opportunity to hear from one of the greats in this field.

Movie

Following the talk (and showcasing some of its principles), there will be a showing of Toy Story 2.

The agenda for the evening is:
6:00 Dinner
6:30 Professor Hanrahan
7:00 Toy Story 2

If you plan to attend, please RSVP so that we can order an appropriate amount of pizza. An RSVP does not lock you into coming, and not RSVPing does not bar you from attending.

Looking forward to seeing you there,
Clayton
