Planimeter [Newcomer] (1917)
Mechanical Integrator [Newcomer] (1916)
The devices compute the integral or circumference of a drawn curve, when the
pointer at the end is moved along the curve. The resulting linear and angular
motions are converted into a readout, either a dial or a relative position
of the device [information courtesy of Prof.~Erismann, Emeritus, ETH Zurich].
