Student Meeting Notes 1997-Sep-05

Wei presented the template generation GUI for WWW pages he developed during this quarter (implemented using Java).

We identified the following additions and improvements:

High priority

• Better GUI support for REGEXP generation (buttons or popup menus for generating regexp based on selected text in WWW page).
• Give exact error/status report when generating an OEM view of a web page and a rule fails.

Low priority

• Add slider to change size of left rule window.

On-going and as needed

• Bugfixes

We also discussed if he is interested in future work. Some possibilities might be:

• Continue to improve and extend the GUI
• Other jobs in TSIMMIS
• Jobs in DigLib Project

Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 09/18 at 10am where we will get a demo of the new features and decide on future work.
