Prior to Cambrian, I was a co-founder and CTO of Junglee, an Internet startup where we created "Virtual Database" technology for data integration on the web. We started Junglee in 1996 and in 1998, we were acquired by Amazon.com. I was at Amazon.com from 1998 to 2000.
I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. My advisor Jeff Ullman is part of the Stanford Database Group. My Ph.D. thesis is about Virtual Databases; I'll have it available online soon. Here are some of my publications.
Before Stanford, I was at the Indian Institue of Technology, Madras, where I obtained my B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
My wife, Kaushie, is a fashion designer. Her line is called Pink Elf.
My latest project: the Kosmix search engine. Many other health websites use the Kosmix search engine, including RightHealth.
