Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
(1969)
Synopsis
One of the most popular screen Westerns ever made, this Academy Award-winning classic blends adventure, romance and comedy to tell the true story of the West's most likeable outlaws. No one is quicker than Butch Cassidy when it comes to get-rich-quick schemes, and his sidekick Sundance is a wizard with a gun. When these two bungling train robbers tire of running from the law, they set out for Bolivia with Sundance's girlfriend. Though they can barely speak enough Spanish to communicate "This is a stick-up," that's only a minor detail to the two nicest bad guys who ever rode in the West.

Cat Ballou
A tongue-in-cheek parody that's become a classic Western in its own right. Lee Marvin, in the dual role of gunslinger Tim Strawn and boozehound Kid Shelleen, has rarely been better. Jane Fonda plays the titular Cat, a schoolmarm-cum-outlaw who teams with Shelleen to keep her father's ranch from the clutches of a robber baron. Nat King Cole and Stubby Kaye warble the title tune.

Netflix Review
While we easily recall the comedy and romance of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, at the same time -- like as ever-present posse that pursues the pair -- we can conjure the sadness and pervasive sense of doom that fills the film. Similar to It's a Wonderful Life, we may remember Butch Cassidy ... Complete Review

Excellent story, great acting! We really liked the "making of the movie" portion of the DVD which told more of the background of the real story. Recommend watching the movie, then watch the details of behind the scenes.

This is one of the best westerns I have ever seen. It is a classic example of humor and action that should be held up as a comparison for all other western films. Paul Newman and Rob Redford are in their prime and completely hysterical. "Who are those guys anyway?"

A timeless classic based on a true story, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid pairs the incredible talents of Newman and Redford at their best. The DVD quality of both picture and soundtrack are very good, considering this film is almost 30 years old. If you haven't seen Butch and Sundance, you must.

The two are great alone, togeather they are better than the sum of the parts. We have watched it many times. Who are those guys?

Absolutely fantastic! This is one of those movies like Rocky, or Raiders of the Lost Arc that get overlooked because seemingly they are about boxing, or, in this case, cowboys. However, pay attention to the critics on this one. It is an amazing movie, hysterically funny, and well-done from ... Complete Review

The first time I watched this movie, I was a teen. And I watched it not because of Newman or Redford but because of the music of Burt Bacharach and David. But this movie "caught" me and I watched it several times since then. And I'll do it again and again.
A "MUST SEE" for the whole family.
