True Lies
(1994)
Synopsis
Arnold Schwarzenegger is special agent Harry Tasker, a top spy in the ultra-secret Omega Sector - although to his wife Helen, he's just a boring computer salesman. When Harry's two lives enexpectedly collide, both he and Helen find themselves in the clutches of international terrorists, fighting to save not only their marriage, but their lives. Jammed with incredible special effects, True Lies is an exhilarating mix of non-stop action and romantic comedy.

About the DVD: Glorious, with an over-animated menu (I was about to snap into Pokemon-like seizures from the flashing and the graphics) and while the only feature is the trailer, this disc looks and sounds great. The film is only in the original widescreen, with THX-Certified sound mastering -- there's English and French in Dolby Surround, and another English Dolby 5.1 track.
Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bill Paxton, Tia Carrere, Tom Arnold, Art Malik

Speed
There's a bomb on the bus, but it'll be OK. Never good news if you're a passenger, but if the messenger is Keanu Reeves, you'll have a fun ride. Speed tops other Die Hard clones with three hair-raising set pieces! The bulk of the film takes place on a bus wired to explode if its speed drops below 50 mph -- in Los Angeles traffic!

Broken Arrow
Prepare to go ballistic! John Travolta stars as stealth-fighter pilot Vic Deakins. When he deliberately drops off the radar while on maneuvers, the Air Force ends up with a "broken arrow" (a stolen nuclear warhead) and only one hope for getting it back. Deakins' co-pilot, Riley Hale (Christian Slater), teams with park ranger Samantha Mathis to put Travolta back in his box.

Netflix Review
I have an ambiguous relationship with True Lies: I admire James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger's spy flick/domestic comedy cross very much for the visceral action scenes and the central plot -- that Arnold has been a secret agent for 15 years and his wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) doesn't know. This is one of Arnold's best movie of all time. I can't wait for the sequel in 2002. Filled with action, comedy, and drama. It's a must see/must have (especially in DVD) for Arnold fans. One of James Cameron's great "T" title movies; Total Recall, Terminator and Terminator 2(T2):Judgement Day, and ... Complete Review

Anytime that I have the opportunity to see Jamie Lee Curtis in a black bra and thong, the movie will always be worthy five stars!

Jamie Lee Curtis was hilarious in this. It was the first time I saw Arnold in something that really wasn't annoying.

Excellent movie. Alot of action! Enjoyed watching a dull housewife turn into a dashing partner for her husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I bought this movie to watch again and again.

Unfortunately, the teaming of Arnold and Cameron does not instantly equal major blockbuster unless a Terminator is in the mix, as "True Lies" very well proves. Though a likeable little ditty (and admittedly, Jamie does look good though Tia looks better!), "Lies" is not likely to attain the ... Complete Review

A good film on terrorism would be welcome at this point in history. This is not that film. It begins with a slick and promising scene with a multi-lingual and international dimension. It soon degenerates into explosions and gunplay that has an adolescent ring to it. I gave up halfway through.
