The Edge
(1997)
Synopsis
A plane crash in the freezing Alaskan wilderness pits intellectual billionaire Charles Morse (Hopkins) against self-satisfied fashion photographer Robert Green (Baldwin) in a brutal struggle for survival. The acting is very good - exceptional when you consider that there was a Baldwin and a model in the cast. Even the bear gave a great acting effort (and is rightly the first actor named in the ... So the story was EXCELLENT, but was the delivery? Well, if one can overlook a few small doses of "hollywoodism", then it was a pretty ... Complete Review

Combine the dangerous, hostile wilderness with a script by David Mamet and you come up with a thrilling, exciting film ! Alec Baldwin is understandably great having appeared, brilliantly in Mamet's "Glengarry Glen Ross", but Anthony Hopkins, of course, is the star, and for good reason. This is the ... Complete Review

Baldwin manages a good version of a callousness, and Hopkins shines, as ever. Bart (the bear), in my opinion, should receive an an oscar nomination for his ... Complete Review

The Edge is very entertaining with non- stop action. The scenes with the bear were exciting and the scenery was quite beautiful. I would definitely recommend it. It may not be Oscar material, and there are a few holes in the story, but you will not be bored. I was disappointed that the extras did ... Complete Review
