Tonya Lee Putnam J.D./Ph.D.

I am an Assistant Professo of Political Science at Columbia University.  I received my Ph.D. in March 2005 from the Department of Political Science at Stanford University, and my law degree in June 2002 from Harvard Law School.  I also received Post-Doctoral fellowships at the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University, and the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University.  My primary research interests involve extraterritoriality, transnational regulatory disputes, and exploring how international legal processes shape, and are shaped by international politics.   Other areas of interest include human rights, post-conflict transitional justice, international weapons prohibition regimes, and security in the post-Soviet region.
