Build Off-Screen Sitemaps on Small Devices |
Problem: Web sites are hard to browse on handheld devices. Our solution has users drag links towards the display's edge. This action creates virtual off-screen piles of summary information about the subtree under the link. Dragging a pile back to the screen provides search and organizational tools for just that subtree. |
|
To remember which link was dragged to which off-screen pile, memory templates are available. Users keep a template in mind, imagining it underlying the landscape of piles. Users may also create their own memory templates for different Web sites.Piles may hold other information that users flicked off the screen to save search results. |
