A quick sketch of the first 21 years of my life. I was born in Pondicherry, India in 1979 and the world has been a better place to live in ever since. I was reading books on Databases when I wasn't quite 3, somewhat like Jennifer Widom's kids here. This poor choice in infantile reading material may be attributed to the fact that I had exhausted the Quantum-Theory collection a year earlier. When I wasn't busy rescuing the world from one disaster after another, I went to school, attended classes, did homework and the rest of the usual stuff. After about 14 years of this, I joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Had a lot of fun there for about 4 years, hanging out with friends, doing cool stuff, and getting some studying done every now and then. Finally hopped on a plane to Stanford in September 2000. Plane didn't crash and so here I am. For the gory details, you'll have to wait till I find the time. Biographers may feel free to apply. Who knows, you just might win a Pulitzer for it someday.
